Join the Nurse Policy Entrepreneur Community (NPEC) for three informal meetups to connect, reflect, and inspire action! Here’s what we have planned:
Monday, June 9 | 4:30 PM - 5:30PM | Restaurant Platta
Unwind with light bites and drinks after the NurseHack4Health™ Hackathon (8 AM–4 PM) and connect before the Congress Opening Ceremony (6 PM). Reserved for 10 people - you’ll be notified through our WhatsApp group!
Wednesday, June 11 | 11:45 AM | “Policy Leadership in Action” Symposium
Outside Hall 3d in the Messukeskus, Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre
Join us for this powerful session (12 PM–1:30 PM) exploring global policy development and how it relates to the nursing profession and global health — not to be missed! See the ICN Congress programme for more details on the symposium. Let’s keep the dialogue going and grab lunch together afterwards at one of the many cafés/restaurants in the convention centre!

Global Policy and Nursing Power
Several NPEC participants will attend the ICN Congress including symposiums on strategic policy leadership. Follow our posts in real-time as we share insights from sessions and explore how nurses are influencing social structures, workforce education, and global policy — all aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and WHO’s strategic priorities. As NPEC continues to explore the role of the Nurse Policy Entrepreneur, this event presents rich ground for reflection: How do we leverage these global movements locally? How do we turn influence into structural change?
At our next Café, let’s continue the conversation and discuss how NPEC participants can activate their leadership and advocacy across boundaries — sustaining momentum as a community of NPEs shaping a more equitable world. PLUS: How does one best prepare for such an event? We’ll discuss strategies and tips to get the most out of professional conferences - before and after attending.
Sigma Nursing Centered Blog: Connecting nurses globally to shape policy reform
The Nurse Policy Entrepreneur Community (NPEC) is a beacon of hope and action for nurses worldwide seeking deeper engagement in healthcare policy reform. Since its inception in October 2022, meeting monthly via Zoom, the NPEC has created an inclusive, dynamic space for nurses across backgrounds, specialties, and experience levels. Its mission is clear: to empower nurses to actualize roles as full partners in healthcare reform by facilitating meaningful discussions and fostering collaboration. This unfunded and unaffiliated initiative relies on volunteerism and embodies a pertinent, emerging mechanism for global healthcare reform. Keep reading…

There are thousands of engagements from all continents, indicating broad interest for this kind of policy engagement! This is leading to new connections, and we want to facilitate them.
